STORYTELLER SATURDAY - I know you're writing a lot of snippets, vignettes and short pieces about many characters (SO MANY CHARACTERS) in Ascendancy; how would you 'group' your stories together? I know different stories take places in different timezones, are there through-threads from story to story a reader could follow?

Looking at my OC family tree, we have over 238 characters listed there and its incomplete! Note: Not every character has much character development!

Right now i'm working on a timeline to follow major events, which ill be posting to my discord once i finish up the Chien era a bit more.

The characters that do have big development are often connecting in very personal ways through their stories, Be it because they're family or because they're coworkers or otherwise connected.

Here's the most important times, named by who is the current leaders of the most significant nations

Sera 3550 AX - 39?? AX When Enkavaima became Anemoi. This is when Sera colonized Enkavaima. She was the partner of Lord Pinna, a God hellbent on claiming a large territory for themselves and ruling it as their God. Sera's rule did not last long but one of her sons, Anemos, went on to rule for over 100 years, Dragonborn were created some time near the end of Anemos' rule

Zephyrus 4350? AX Some mischief with the fates happens around now regarding a special little dragonborn - and will be explored in Fate of Alchemists when its completed. Perhaps this was when Draslix split?

Zachariah / Drita-Lilith / Dikaiosyn 440?- 4510 AX Midonia and Ishida begin feuding and it turns into a cold war. Drita and Zachariah are willing to put their nations in danger for their pride. Leaders of both Midonia and Anemoi have developed the trading routes between their nations and have created a powerful allyship. This is objectively the start of important characters being born. The Luminary, the religious leaders of Ishida, create a truce with Midonia to stop a full blown, violent war. Lilith becomes the sole Superior of Ishida after her mother, Drita, dies. Lilith is a terrifying but extremely effective ruler. She even has Midonia on a leash.

Xavier-Caleb / Lilith-Ilonia / Skalono 4508- 4534 AX Xavier Cane becomes Monarch of Midonia, Skalono becomes Crown of Anemoi. Xavier is a tyrant in his own regards, much like his father but in a different way. He changes many archaic laws in Midonia until he is overthrown by the public. Caleb, his younger brother, is put in power. Skalono is a beloved ruler, who focuses on the needs of his people equal to the needs of his allied nations. He maintains peace in Anemoi Lilith continues to rule with a tight grip on her allies. She dominates the trade markets and makes Ishida the trade hub its known for. Lilith is assassinated by her Sire, Edgar Derre, and a shift in power causes Ilonia to take the throne as Superior after kicking out Edgar Xavier becomes Advisor to Skalono.

Caleb-Christopher / Ilonia / Mavros 4534- 4551 AX Ilonia maintains status quo. Caleb as well. Mavros takes the crown. Mavros' sister, Amara becomes queen to Midonia through a political marriage as part of a war strategy. Mavros takes the Crown in Anemoi and a war begins between Anemoi and Midonia, Anemoi being the aggressor. An Anemoi colony is established in Midonia, called Boreal. Both Crown Mavros and Mirka disappear, leaving their sole heir, Chien at 12. Christopher is overthrown and executed.

Montgomery/ Ilonia / Chien 4551- 45?? AX Ilonia maintains status quo. Chien is passive for most of his rule, but becomes increasingly aggressive in changing policy and eventually, begins delivering hard justice in the form of public execution. He goes from what would be seen as a meek man, to the Ruthless Cane he is. Montgomery is aggressive in his rebuild of Midonian economy.

ALL of this will eventually be put down on the timeline. Right now, ive got almost everything down I just really need to work more on between 4551- 45?? and a bit of what happens after that. As well, I need to put down Sera and Zephyrus' era and I need to put down some information on what happens before Zachariah's rule :D

     xavier and monty had been best friends for as long he could remember, practically attached at the hip since grade school. there had, however, been a shift in their friendship after they’d came out on the other side of puberty, bodies toned and perpetually aroused. they were in college now, sharing a dorm room when xavier finally had the nerve and a bit of liquid courage to make a move. he thought that they’d both thoroughly enjoyed each other’s bodies, and it hadn’t happened again – they hadn’t even spoken about it! xavier was overdue for another taste. “hey, bro,” he said, flopping down onto monty’s bed. “you know, i love you, right? like you’re my best friend in the whole world, which is exactly why you should get naked and touch me inappropriately again.”

     Xavier wasn’t stressed per say, but he had piles of work to do on his desk, work that had to do with the company he owned and ran. But he needed relief, he needed something to take his mind off of it all. He knew, leaving would only prove finishing his work harder than need be, so rather than leaving the comfort of his office adorned in wood and gold accents, Xavier had sent a message to Tessa, telling her to get ready as his driver would be there in less than fifteen minutes to pick her up. After the message was sent, Xavier could feel the grin pulling at the corner of his lips, the thought of seeing Tessa already putting him in a better mood.

     The man knew it didn’t take long based on the sound of the door opening and closing behind two sets of feet walking into the flat. Xavier had messaged his driver-- who also happened to be his right hand and closest confidant, telling the older man to escort Tessa towards his office, a place where not many people found themselves. His office was a sacred place, where many things found themselves hidden. It was the place Xavier locked himself away in to escape, but Tessa was someone he found himself trusting, someone he wanted to surround his senses entirely with.

     When the door to his office opened and the sound of steps crossing the threshold were heard, Xavier lifted his head to see the blonde, his tongue darting out to wet his lower lip, “Miss Montgomery... I’m glad to see you.”

WELCOME TO MOORBROOKE’S ANNUAL FALL FESTIVAL 2022!

The summer is over and the colder days have finally arrived which means it’s now time for Moorbrooke to celebrate the start of fall with the annual Fall Festival! For a week, the town will be filled with fun fall festivities for everyone in the town to enjoy. Whether it be pumpkin carving, munching on tasty caramel apples, drinking delicious fall inspired hot drinks, browsing through homemade trinkets by our very own Moorbrooke locals or having fun on the rides, Moorbrooke welcomes everyone to experience the fun!

Take a look at all the fun activities that’ll be occurring throughout the week... 

FOOD & DRINK STALLS: There will be a variety of food and drink stalls at the festival! Teddy Montgomery and James Reynolds will be running a homemade pumpkin pie stall, Vivienne Parihk will have a stall filled with delicious goodies straight from Delia’s Cafe, Carly Ortiz will have a stall with all her tasty home-baked treats, Nassar Ramzy will have a selection of appetisers from Infusion, and Cecily Lightwood and will both be running her own food stall. 

CRAFT STALLS: No Fall festival would be complete without tons of fun crafts for both adults and children alike! Enzo Di Traglia and Jackie Lockwood will have a crafts stall to make felt wreaths and will also be selling Jackie’s own autumn wreaths and plants. Xavier Bhandari and Cassidy Min will also be assisting with face painting, and there will be other stalls for pumpkin carving, making autumn-inspired drinks and decorating cookies and more!

MERCHANDISE STALLS: The lovely locals of Moorbrooke will be selling their beautiful handmade trinkets, from jewellery, to knitted clothes, to candles and scents, to stationary, to household decorations, to plants, and more!

MISC STALLS: Alongside the other fun stalls, Sylvia De La Fuente will be running an adoption booth to help foster kittens find homes and Felicity Pierce will be helping out at Roecliffe Theater’s Booth, handing out flyers for upcoming performances. 

RIDES & ENTERTAINMENT: During the festival week, there will be plenty of rides for Moorbrookers to experience. There will also be entertainment throughout the week, from DJ music to dancers to live musicians.

SECURITY & FIRST AIDERS: To keep our Moorbrookers safe throughout the festival, Sasha Rabinowitz has volunteered to work as a first aider during the week and Tobias Min will be there as an EMT. 

OOC INFORMATION

This event will begin on Friday 14th October and will end on Friday 21st October. We will make a seperate post when the event has begun so members are aware. Participation is not mandatory, however it would be lovely to see as many members as possible getting involved. You will not be required to drop non-event threads during the event and once the event is over, you are welcome to continue your event threads for as long as you wish. Please ensure that any open starters are tagged with mbevent and also tag the starter blog so we can reblog it there.

I really don't like exclusive pages but I feel I finally need to have one so that I don't let anyone down when it comes to threads and I can't get into it because I've played with someone using the fc for so long I can't imagine playing with someone else using them or I like the person's canon portrayal so much I can't picture playing with another one (and I if nothing, loyal to the people I find enjoyment in roleplaying with). welcome to capture the flag,    demigods!   and congratulations to our previous winners,   the nemesis cabin.   now,   the game will take place on friday at nine o’clock and you will be split into two teams as usual.    the boundary is the creek to zeus’ fist,   and upon being told your teams,   you will need to work together with each of the counsellors from your respective team’s cabins at a war council.   

for any newcomers,   a quick briefing:   the setting of the game is the forest,   where monsters are located and hiding.   each team will be given a flag.    on each side of the forest,   both teams hide their flag somewhere visible but easily defensible.    to win for your team,   you need to capture the opponent's flag and carry it across the river that divides the middle of the forest and acts like a border.   if you are caught you will be taken to the opposing team’s jail until you are freed by another member of your team.   chiron will serve as battlefield medic and referee.

now,   before we go on to the teams,   a reminder of the game’s rules.

every camper who is not injured has to play.

the creek is the boundary line.

the entire forest is considered fair game.

all magic items are allowed.

the flags must be prominently displayed and can have no more than two guards.

prisoners may be disarmed,   but may not be bound or gagged.

killing or maiming is NOT allowed.    the punishment for breaking this rule is loss of dessert for one week.

guards are not allowed to stand within ten yards of the flag.

now,   on to the teams...

RED:    zeus,   athena,   tyche,   iris,   ares,   hermes,   nemesis,   hades and dionysus. BLUE:   demeter,   poseidon,   apollo,   hephaestus,   nike,   hebe,   hypnos,   hecate and aphrodite.

                       good luck to you all,   and may the gods be with you!

* for ooc purposes:   this game will be particularly brutal.   cyclopes,  giant scorpions and bronze bulls will be unleashed and will scramble the teams due to an error on part of the dionysus cabin,   and many demigods may get lost or surrounded by monsters depending on their navigational skills.   the winning team will be judged on which mun plots and threads around this event;   aka the most thought put into a plot centred around the game,   the better your chances of winning!   otherwise,   the winner will be generated using heads or tails.

both the red and blue team will each have three different teams within themselves doing different things.   your muse can either be assigned to the team ( a ) capturing the flag,   be part of ( b ) the frontal attacking force,   or part of the ( c ) scouting team that faces particular complications with monsters and is thus cornered.   i’ve assigned which team your character will be in below,   but please let me know if you’d like it changed.
